THE AMERICAN BUFFALO, a new two-part, four-hour series, takes viewers on a journey through more than 10,000 years of North American history and across some of the continent’s most iconic landscapes, tracing the animal’s evolution, significance to the Great Plains, near demise, and relationship to the Indigenous People of North America. The American Buffalo Premieres Oct. 24th, on Lakeshore PBS.
Lakeshore Public Media is set for the local premiere of Ken Burns’ new documentary “The American Buffalo” at Broken Wagon Bison located in Hobart Ind.
Lakeshore Public Media will host a (2) live, in-person screenings of "The American Buffalo" at Broken Wagon Bison in Hobart, Indiana, on Friday, October 20th from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, October 21st from 11-2 p.m.
This is a great opportunity to see this new Ken Burns documentary in a remarkable setting. Broken Wagon Bison is a family-owned and operated bison ranch that is home to over 100 bison, so you can expect to see these majestic creatures up close. The ranch provides locally grown bison meat, bison leather goods, and bison hides, crafts and more.
Before/after the screening, you will get up close and person with the stars of the film and have a chance to explore the farm, learning all there is to know about buffalo.
