This edition of "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" was originally broadcast on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2018 on 89.1FM - Lakeshore Public Radio

IN-STUDIO GUEST: NICKY JADE (Region Magician)

Northwest Indiana-born and bred NICKY JADE came to the Lakeshore Radio Studio to have a sit down chat with show host TOM LOUNGES about what drew him to perform feats of illusion nearly a decade ago, his slow climb up the magical ladder, the circle of magician friends that have supported his desire to learn, the various kinds of  illusions, and how every performer of his kind tends to specialize in one style or another of performance.

Is it still okay to call those like him a "magician" or is the Politically Correct monkier now "illusionist"?

Why in the age of A.I. and advance technology does magic still impress folks?  Nicky Jade has a lot to say about his chosen craft during this chat, which includes a few special "magic" songs.   Catch Jade on Saturday, December 1st as part of a modern Vaudvillian-style varirty event at D Performance Comedy Theatre (500 S. Lake Street) in Miller Beach/Gary, IN.
