Northwest Indiana nonprofits awarded Indiana Humanities grants

Indiana Humanities

Humanities organizations are the heart and soul of the Hoosier State. Indiana Humanities recently awarded 15 nonprofits with more than $67,000 in grants and two local nonprofits are grant recipients. Projects supported with Indiana Humanities grants include a reading-and-discussion program that engages northwest Indiana audiences in the story of civil rights pioneer Claudette Colvin as well as an a monthly discussion led by a guest speaker that sheds light on the region’s rich cultural and environmental history. Lakeshore Public Radio's Dee Dotson recently spoke with George Hamlin, the Director of Grants for Indiana. Humanities to talk about the grants.
