U.S. Representative Frank Mrvan's recent conversation with Lakeshore Public Radio has drawn a response from his Republican challenger's campaign. During an interview on Regionally Speaking, Mrvan (D-Highland) discussed the overturning of Roe v. Wade, steel tariffs, the South Shore Line's Double Track project and federal funding for harbor upgrades that he says could ease supply chain issues.

But the Committee to Elect Jennifer-Ruth Green says he should've instead talked about inflation and rising gas prices. Green’s communications director, Kevin Hansberger, said in a statement Friday that "Frank Mrvan’s recent interview with Lakeshore Public Radio made it clear that he has gone to Washington and completely lost touch."
