WFYI Public Radio

Today:   A conversation with Ken Davidson, of the "Northwest Indiana Gazette" blog, about his complaint filed in a Lake County court about decisions made by local organizations that do not, in his view, allow for more consistent public comment.  His request for judicial review focuses on the decisions made by the Regional Development Authority (RDA) and Northwest Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) boards on the South Shore Line expansion projects, and the West Lake Extension in particular.   The project is currently under review by federal transportation agencies.

We also have another conversation from the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University.  The Welcome Project collects first-person stories and pairs these with intention conversation to forge stronger ties within and across our communities.

Lakeshore Public Radio's Sharon Jackson spoke with Heather Ennis of the Northwest Indiana Forum about the organization's work on an updated strategic plan for economic development.

And Lakeshore Public Media President and CEO James Muhammad and Matt Franklin, LPM vice president for television operations, join us in the studio with good news on the progress of repairs being made after a storm damaged the TV transmitter and cut off over-the-air and satellite reception to viewers.
