Gary International Black Film Festival

Today: George Hanlin is the Director of Grants for Indiana Humanities. He joins us to discuss how two local nonprofits received Action Grants to provide public humanities programs in northwest Indiana. Indiana Dunes National Park Superintendent Paul Labovitz recently joined us to talk about how the organization plans to use the funds they received as part of the Great American Outdoors Act. But up first, Karen Toering is the founder of a highly anticipated festival in the Region. This week they will host the 12th Annual Gary International Film Festival which kicks off with an All Black Pre-Funk Art Experience. All of that on this edition of Regionally Speaking.

Dee Dotson is the host and producer of our radio show/podcast, Regionally Speaking. Dee is responsible for connecting with the northwest Indiana community to share their stories with the Lakeshore Public Media listening audience.
