Indiana HEA 1300 limits charitable bail bond organizations.

Today: Krystal Gibson with the I.U. Public Policy Institute is on "Regionally Speaking" as the lead author of a report which outlines the disparities of the Hoosier State’s bail bond system. She talks about the issue in Hoosier counties and the potential impact of Indiana House Enrolled Act 1300 — set to take effect July 1st, 2022 — which will further reduce options for defendants trying to get out of jail. Mitch Barloga with "Rebuilding Together of South Lake County" talks about their annual "Christmas in September" volunteer home rehabilitation event to help seniors, disabled or disadvantaged homeowners, this year in Merrillville. Applications are due on June 1st. And Indiana Public Broadcastng's Dylan Peers McCoy reports on a busload of Gary residents upset with the Gary Community Schools management and their meeting with lawmakers at the Statehouse.
