Today: National Coming Out Day is October 11th. The day honors and supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer people and their “coming out of the closet” to proudly be their true selves. We're spending the hour speaking with LGBTQ community members as well as allies sharing their thoughts on why this day is so important. Troy Stevenson from the Trevor Project shares information on resources that are available for LGBT youth, Barb Langel with First Unitarian church of Hobarts discusses the intersectionality of faith and the LGBT community but up first we speak with Elizabeth Menning with PFLAG Crown Point about the work the organization is doing to support LGBT community members and their families. All of that on this edition of Regionally Speaking
