The Legacy and Impact of PRINCE Remembered!

This edition of  “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” originally aired on Tuesday, April 26, 2016

TOPIC:  PRINCE: REMEMBERING AN ICON

Today on the “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” program the impact of PRINCE will be discussed with regional musicians JIM SKAFISH and KEN KINSEY.  Skafish will comment on the social and musical impact of PRINCE, while KEN KINSEY will share more personal reflections and tell of how his internationally known  family band, The Kinsey Report, came to record a Prince song.  Various selections of PRINCE’s music will also be featured during the program.

Host Tom Lounges will reflect on his interview and personal encounter with PRINCE on a very cold December night back in 1980 when PRINCE performed at the Uptown Theatre in Chicago while promoting his third national album release,  “Dirty Mind.”

PRINCE — who died on April 21st at the age of 57 — had a tremendous impact on popular music, inspired a generation of musicians, and helped many other artists who orbited in his circle find success.
