IN-STUDIO GUESTS:  SCOTT “STRETCH” MILLER & GAGE ANDERSON with phone guest KEN WILLIAMS

 

For this installment of “Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges” the topic is the 3nd Annual “ROCK THE HOUSE” fundraiser to help with upgrades and repairs to the historical 122-year-old MEMORIAL OPERA HOUSE in downtown Valparaiso, IN.

The event on Saturday, AUGUST 20 features both inside and outside entertainment at the historic music and arts venue.   Among the regional artists performing are — Ripley Street Unplugged, Chris & Lou, Greg Ashby & Bruce Chronister, Gage Anderson, and James Sheppard & Heather Bricker.   National touring artist Michelle Malone will headline the event with a 9:30pm closing concert.

In studio to chat about the long history of the Memorial Opera House are SCOTT "STRETCH” MILLER (MOH’s Technical Director) and a fresh young region music talent, GAGE ANDERSON who will be performing at the event.   RIPLEY STREET vocalist/front man KEN WILLIAMS was also a guest by phone.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
