The musical guest this installment of the weekly “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” is multi-talented performer MINDI ABAIR — who performs live with DAVID SANBORN on Friday, September 30 at THE VENUE at Blue Chip Casino in Hammond, Indiana.

Not only one of the most respected saxophonists in music today, MINDI ABAIR is an accomplished vocalist and songwriter, who has impacted multiple musical genres, including jazz, pop, rock, R&B, and funk.

This two time Grammy Award-nominee’s career includes seven critically acclaimed solo albums and numerous collaborations with top-shelf international musicians. Tonight, listeners will be treated to songs from her latest live concert album “LIVE IN SEATTLE,” and her newest studio album, “WILD HEART.”

MINDI ABAIR has scored ten #1 radio hits, was the featured saxophonist on the 2011 and 2012 seasons of “American Idol,” jammed with Paul Shaffer on the Late Show with David Letterman,” and rocked with Aerosmith on their 2012 summer tour.

This program will spotlight selections from Abair’s two latest albums as she discusses her incredible journey through music, a journey that began when she was only 8 years old and a journey that seems to have a long way to go.
