This edition of the "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges," the musical guest was Chicago music icon,  DENNIS DeYOUNG — the former singer, songwriter and keyboardist of the classic rock group, STYX.

DeYoung discussed his long career, his current band and the upcoming live performance -- " DENNIS DeYOUNG AND THE MUSIC OF STYX" -- they were doing on Saturday, February 11 at Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, IN.   

This program also featured some classic Styx songs performed by DeYoung's current band and taken from the group's "Live In Las Vegas" double CD, on Frontiers Records, as well as a great solo track from DeYoung's latest solo album, "One Hundred Years From Now."

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
