Rusted Root's Michael Glabicki & Devon Allman on Their Careers, Music and Hammond Civic Center Show

This edition of "Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges" features two musical guests and a chance for listeners to call in to win tickets to see them perform on March 25, 2017 in a co-billed concert at The Hammond Civic Center.

Up first is MICHAEL GLABICKI of Rusted Root -- celebrating their 25th anniversary this year -- who chats about his eclectic musical group, his songwriting, their recordings, what is coming next for both his and their career, and how as a teenager in Pittsburgh he came to embrace the rhythms of the world.  Songs from both their first album ("Cruel Sun") to their latest ("The Movement") are heard during this first half.

The second half features a conversation with DEVON ALLMAN -- guitarist, vocalist, songwriter of  The Devon Allman Band --  who talks about making his career choice after going on tour in 1989 with father Gregg's famous group, The Allman Brothers Band, his own career, touring, his new album "Ride Or Die," and some of his future plans like forming his own record label, a rockin' side project and more.   Songs from "Ride Or Die" are featured during this second half.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
