Judy Jacobi Talks About ART TOURS at Purdue University's Hammond Campus

This Edition of "A LOOK AT THE ARTS with Tom Lounges" originally aired Friday, March 24, 2017

This installment of "A Look At The Arts" as Tom Lounges talks with Judy Jacobi -- Assistant Vice Chancellor of University Art Collections & Special Programs at Purdue Northwest -- best known on campus as "The Art Lady."

Jacobi talks about the unification of the campuses, the continued effort to add and showcase unique pieces of art, with an added focus on a pair of community tours of significant new works of art at the Purdue University Northwest Hammond Campus on Saturday, March 25. The tours are open to the public and free of charge.

 

The Second part of the program features Hobart K9 Police officers --- Cpl. A. Simon Gresser and Scout -- to talk about the impact canines have had on law enforcement, the kind of dogs used for this serious job and the training process.   They are also in studio to talk about a special annual comedy fundraiser for the Hobart K9 Police Unit happening at Country Line Orchard in Hobart on Friday, March 24, 2017.  The event starts at 5pm with K9 demonstrations and raffles, followed at 7pm by three national comedians from Comedy Central.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
