Many Turn out to Have a Blast at Ravinia During Sammy Hagar

Ravinia Festival

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - Sammy Hagar and the Circle rocked the large crowd at Ravinia on Monday, June 19th.

The band includes Michael Anthony on bass, Jason Bonham on drums and Vic Johnson on guitar.

The performers looked as it they were having a blast while they played Sammy's solo work, some Van Halen material from 5150 and OU812, some Led Zepplin covers, and Chickenfoot and Montrose covers.

Fans were there to get the unique experience that only Ravina delivers with it's beautiful park and grounds and the overall good vibe that is ever-present at the venue.

Bridgeview resident Vanessa Rusenovich has only been coming to Ravina for two years, but has been there enough to know that she loves sitting out on the lawn.

"Ravinia is great.  They like to drink beers.  It's great.  It's great.  We have a great time when we come here."

Rick Bernico, from Mundelien was sitting on the ledge of a large flower bed enjoying his evening at Ravinia for the first time this season, but he was already making plans for at least a second evening there.

"We're going to come back to see Santana"

Bernico was there Monday night to see Hagar, who he referred to as the "Red Rocker.

And he likes the freedom and luxury of getting to bring your own food and drink on the lawn.  "

"You know you can bring whatever you want.  You can layout and drink wine and stuff and rather than being locked down It's a nice layout we have been coming here for years."

Santana is coming to Ravinia Friday and Saturday August 11th and 12th.
