This edition of "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" is jammed with music and guests!  Guest co-host JUSTIN KING -- Northwest Indiana singer/songwriter of the band OPEN YOUR EYES  performs live and discusses music.  Joining him is Ryan Steinberg of the band.

California singer/songwriter/performer BRIGITTE RIOS PURDY whose tribute song "Lucille Don't You Weep" honoring the late B.B. King is getting lots of internet attention will discuss her music, career and why she loves the blues.  She was scheduled, but due to an emergency, was unable to guest on the program.  A rescheduled guest appearance by Brigitte is in the works.  

JOHN O'HARA, the keyboardist and arranger of JETHRO TULL, discussed the group's latest CD -- "JETHRO TULL: THE STRING QUARTETS" -- a collection of 12 re-imagined Tull classics recorded by The Carducci String Quartet, O'Hara and Ian Anderson in the crypt of a centuries old cathedral.    Jethro Tull perform at 8pm this Saturday at the Chicago Theater (175 N. State St.) in Chicago.  

The program also features a few fresh "Today in Music History" segments.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
