Tom Lounges interviews iconic rock guitarist EARL SLICK about his years with DAVID BOWIE

FIRST HALF -- The Northwest Indiana-based veteran rock quartet ROCKEN HORSE visited the Lakeshore studio to performing tunes, playing new and classic recordings, and chat with old friend Tom Lounges, who has a long history with the band.  This show finds them catching up on things; reflecting on the band's very early days in the '80s, their reformation, and how the new studio recordings and new songs are working out.   There's a new chapter for this venerable band of musical friends just starting.

SECOND HALF -- Iconic guitarist EARL SLICK called in to chat with TOM LOUNGES about the "CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIE" U.S. tour that stops in Chicago at The Vic Theatre on February 23rd. The last time Lounges interviewed Slick was in 1980 at Rick's American Cafe in downtown Chicago when the guitarist was promoting his then band, Silver Condor.
Slick was a longtime member of David Bowie and a close friend; he played on several Bowie albums from 1974 through the 2000s -- including "Diamond Dogs," "David Live!," "Young Americans," "Reality" and "Heathen" -- and also toured live with the late rock chameleon.  Slick will chat about his years with Bowie.  What was Bowie like as a band leader?  Give a listen!   Great stories and memories are shared.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
