TOPIC:   Reflecting on JETHRO TULL's 5oth Anniversary

Guest: IAN ANDERSON  of Jethro Tull

Jethro Tull are touring the U.S. in 2018 in celebration of the iconic British prog-rock group's 50th Anniversary.   They will perform in Chicago on Labor Day, Sept. 3rd at Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois. 

Ian Anderson is the group's founder, flautist, front man, singer, songwriter, producer and archivist.  He is the man who has kept the group going strong throughout the decades as he has continued to lead it along it's evolutionary journey.

Tom Lounges has chatted many times with Ian over the years.  Among the topics this time --- the newly assembled "50 for 50" Anniversary Anthology of music (3 LPs or 3 CDs), as well and reflecting on the past, the present and the future of Jethro Tull.   Ian continues to be energized on stage each night and alludes that he will not be slowing down anytime soon.

Lots of classic Jethro Tull songs also featured along with the interview segments on this program.
 

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
