STONEY BAND BRINGS PSYCHEDELIC SOUNDS TO THE BLUES

This edition of  "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" originally aired on FRIDAY, AUGUST 23, 2019

Guest:  STONEY CURTIS BAND

The buzz has grown steadily on the Stoney Curtis Band since Shrapnel Records released the debut album from the veteran blues artist on July 19, 2005.

Although group namesake, front man, and guitarist Stoney Curtis originally hails from the Midwest, the Stoney Curtis Band formed out West in and got their start in the Nevada/California scene.  Since then, the group has been recording and performing for years, honing a unique brand of psychedelic blues rock.

Heavily steeped in the various sounds of the 60’s/70’s, the Stoney Curtis Band has fused those influences together musically and has made their name with highly energized live performances.  That energy of a live show has been put into the  grooves of their recorded catalog -- “Acid Blues Experience" "Raw and Real" "Cosmic Conn3ction," "LIVE," and "Halo of Dark Matter."

Stoney Curtis Band has toured all over the USA, Europe and the UK many times and stopped by Lakeshore Studio to chat live on air with "Midwest BEAT" host/producer, Tom Lounges, while traveling across the Midwest for their Summer 2019 national tour.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
