South Shore Offers Extra Cubs Service and Shows Cubs Love

CHESTERTON - The South Shore is showing its support and cheering on the Chicago Cubs along with the fans.  It's flying the "W" flag on the front of South Shore trains the day after a win. Spokesperson John Parsons said the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is carrying on the tradition from last year.

"We're planning as we did last year to fly the "W" flag on the front of our trains the day following all the victories the Cubs will have in the post season so we're looking forward to it."

Parsons says NICTD is also reinstating it's special train service after Cubs games.

"In fact what we're doing again for the Cubs is what we did last year for the post season, these games tend to be night games and um we want everybody to have fun at Wrigley Field and not worry about whether they are going to miss their train, so we're going to actually have a special train departing Millennium Station 90 minutes following the conclusion of the game, Parsons said.  "So even if the game goes into extra innings, there will be a train waiting for them. "
