Lake County Comprehensive Land Use Plan Up For Public Comment

Lake County officials are working on a new Comprehensive Land Use Plan for areas outside the town and city limits -- and 90-percent of the land included in the plan is south of U.S. 30.

Commissioner Jerry Tippy and Lake County Surveyor Bill Emerson came on "Regionally Speaking" on Monday to talk about the new Comprehensive Land Use Plan  -- and of the series of public meetings, the first of which will be held Tuesday evening at the Lake County Government Center in Crown Point.

The County Plan Commission is seeking public comment on the new land use plan, the first one in more than 20 years.  Bill Emerson begins the conversation with some background about the need for a new land use plan.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
