Today:   a conversation with one of the two Democratic Party primary election candidates for Indiana House District 3 -- Gary community builder Jessica Renslow. Renslow and Gary Common Councilwoman Ragen Hatcher will be on the May 8th election ballot, seeking the party nomination for the seat vacated when State Representative Charlie Brown retired.  We reached out to Ms. Hatcher with an invitation to join us, but have not yet received a response before this program.

Indiana Public Broadcasting's Charlotte Tuggle has a report on the impact that debate on gun control has on Hoosier gun sellers.

Donna Stuckert of the Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction District joins us to talk about this Saturday's Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration, at the Porter County Expo Center.  You can get the details here.

Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch spoke with us while in northwest Indiana last week about her local visit and other programs she supervises at the Statehouse.  They include "Indiana Grown," an initiative that  encourages Hoosier farmers and other agricultural producers and marketers to band together to encourage more people to buy Indiana-grown products.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
