Regionally Speaking, Monday, June 11, 2018

nwitimes.com

Today:   we talk with "Howey Politics Indiana" publisher Brian Howey about, among other topics, the talks tonight in Singapore between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un -- last weekend's Indiana Republican Party convention in Evansville -- and this coming weekend's Indiana Democratic Party convention.

Donna Kraust of Indiana University Northwest's College of Health and Human Sciences joins us to talk about the June 22nd free dental education camp for all high school students.  It's a chance to look into careers in dental care, including assisting, hygiene and laboratory technician.

Franciscan Health is completing work on a new hospital in Michigan City, and we talk with President and CEO Dean Mazzoni about the new facility that is being built at I-94 and U.S. 421.  It will not completely replace the older hospital, and Mazzoni explains how the current healthcare facility will blend in with the new one.  Plans call for the new Michigan City hospital to be open for patient care next January.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
