HIGHLAND - Dollar General now has a new location in Highland.  The grand opening of its newly-relocated store at 3325 45th Street is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, June 30th.

Public Relations Manager for Dollar General, Mary Kathryn Colbert says the company thought the town of Highland could be served better with a bigger store.

"We're always evaluating our stores and how best to serve our customers and we decided that the Highland community would benefit from a larger store with a simpler layout," said Colbert.  "This store is going to be about 8,400 square feet versus 72-00 square feet, as what the old store was."

The new location will be just down the road from the old store location and the new store layout will offer some additional items for customers.

"Some of the highlights include, the cash register locations are in better places," Colbert says.  "The seasonal products are featured more toward the center of the store.  And then the biggest difference will be there's double the cooler space from the previous store, so it's featuring about 30 cooler doors which will offer more refrigerated and frozen items."

There will be special deals and free prizes at the grand opening event.  The first 50 adult shoppers will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag with complimentary product samples.
