Tony Walker, northwest Indiana's representative on the Indiana state Board of Education, joins us to talk about the Indiana Graduation Pathways -- designed to give postsecondary students "tailored" options for a diploma that doesn't necessarily involve passing standardized tests, but allow students to gain in-demand skills. It is part of a larger effort to better align education outcomes with needs of the Hoosier work force. The SBOE intent is for the Pathways to take full effect with the graduating class of 2023.
We also bring back our conversation with Michigan City environmental science teacher Daisy Lee, about the projects that succeeded so well last spring at Krueger Middle School -- that they'll be continuing this coming school year.
