South Shore Clean Cities

Today:    We revsit our conversation with state Senator Karen Tallian (D-Ogden Dunes) on her recent trip to Canada for a meeting where trade between the U.S. and Canada was discussed.  Indiana's one of the major Midwest trade states with our neighbors to the North.

We also have another edition of "Green Fleet Radio," supported by South Shore Clean Cities, with Carl Lisek and the manager for business development at NIPSCO.

A 26-year-old single mother from Hammond will be walking up onto the stage in Marion this weekend to receive her A.S. degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.  We talk with Flor Padillo about how she's managed her time with her daughter, her job and a high school cheerleading coaching job on the side while studying for her degree.  She's the first member of her family to attend or graduate from college.

And we'll talk with Leslie Plesac with the Purdue University Northwest Sinai Forum program about this year's speakers coming to the Westville campus and to Michigan City.  Season tickets are going fast for this 65th season.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
