Regionally Speaking, Wednesday, February 13, 2019

Ball State University

Today:   Michael Hicks, the executive director of Ball State University's Center for Business and Economic Research, is the co-author of a new report that shows that, overall, Indiana has an overabundance of homes and what the report says is an unprofitable housing industry.  We talk with Professor Hicks about the report, and take a closer look at northwest Indiana.   We also have another edition of "Green Fleet Radio," supported by South Shore Clean Cities.  Carl Lisek talks with former Indiana First Lady Judy O'Bannon, the co-producer of a central Indiana public television series about community-building.

We bring back our conversation with Ann Massie about the upcoming "Food Expo and Discussion," sponsored by the Northwest Indiana Food Council. And Tony Walker, the northwest Indiana representative on the Indiana state Board of Education, talks about the move from the board to get all Indiana school districts signed onto new high school "Graduation Pathways" by 2023.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
