Emma's Footprints Provides Hope and Healing After Loss

Preparing for the birth of a child can be one one of the most blissful times in the life of a family but sadly for thousands of expectant mothers every year, infant loss can turn that bliss into tragedy with very little warning. Statistics show that 1 in 4 women experience pregnancy or infant loss. It’s a pain that may parents understand, but one that sadly is ignored in society today. Emma’s Footprints is an organization founded by Amelia Kowalisyn with a mission to walk families through their grief journey.

As co-host and producer of Regionally Speaking, Dee is responsible for connecting with northwest Indiana community newsmakers to share their stories with the Lakeshore Public Radio listening audience. She believes in the power of storytelling to engag, teach and change lives. Prior to working at Lakeshore Public Radio, Dee enjoyed giving her time, talent, and resources to various community organizations. Dee believes in servant leadership. Her favorite quote is "Leadership is service not position." by Tim Fargo.
