Regionally Speaking, Monday, October 21, 2019

NICTD West Lake Corridor web page

Today:  Sarah Ferraro and Terri Weems of the League of Women Voters of the Calumet Area, and Maranda Fishback with RISE NWI and the Legacy Foundation's community engagement coordinator, are in the studio to talk about the "Vote411.org" project and its local link for Lake County voters to get election-related information.   It is a way for voters to be educated before they head to the polls on Election Day next month, and is a platform for candidates to use with their constituents.  Later in the program, we talk with Matt Moss, Vice President of F. H. Paschen, which is joining with Ragnar Benson on its joint-venture proposal for the South Shore Line's West Lake Corridor Project.  He explains how the two companies which have worked on many projects in the region are working together on this one, and about an outreach effort in Dyer on Thursday afternoon.Sue and Ryan Matthysse, co-owners of "Next Door Photos," have a mission beyond just their real estate  photography work.  Sue talks about the work that they will do in northwest Indiana for victims of human trafficking, training them and providing a source of income to help them start a new life.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
