Regionally Speaking, Thursday, March 19, 2020

Lauren Chapman, IPB News

Today:  The latest topics surrounding COVID-19 dominate this "Reporters' Roundtable."  Chad Priest, the CEO of the American Red Cross - Indiana Region joins us to talk about the severe blood supply shortage due to COVID-19 affecting scheduled blood donations.  Indiana Public Broadcasting digital producer Lauren Chapman tells us about the stories that the IPB News team put out this week concerning the coronavirus outbreak's impact on Hoosier life.  "Times" business reporter Joseph Pete brings the crisis home, with news stories we wrote for print and posted online of the impact on northwest Indiana business, including shopping, food, entertainment and industry.  And "Post-Tribune" reporter Carole Carlson tells us about her stories on the Gary Community Schools finances and of the efforts to dispose of closed and abandoned school properties.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
