Northwest Indiana will have a drive-thru testing site, beginning Wednesday for health care workers, long-term care workers, first responders, and essential workers who are symptomatic with COVID-19. The drive-thru testing is through a joint partnership with the Lake County Health Department, according to State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box.

The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at Merrillville High School, 276 E. 68th Place, Merrillville. Additional dates may be added in the future. Participants should bring a driver’s license or other state-issued identification card and documentation of place of employment.

Dr. Box made the announcement during Tuesday's press conference, from Indianapolis.
