Indiana University Northwest School of Business and Economics

Indiana University Northwest, and the Center for Economic and Education and Research (CEER) at Indiana University Northwest, will host a free webinar exploring the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Micah Pollak, associate professor of economics at IU Northwest and director of CEER, has convened six panelists from a variety of areas to discuss the wide-ranging impact of the pandemic and the state’s response on the region.

Open to the public, the virtual event, “COVID-19 Economic Effects on Northwest Indiana,” is scheduled for 1 to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday May 13, and will be accessible online via the Zoom video platform and Facebook Live.

To participate in the event, attendees should register online at https://iu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0OhKyXYypLHfQXP and a Zoom connection link will be provided in advance of the event start time. Attendees who are unable to register in advance may view the event on the IU Northwest School of Business and Economics Facebook page at facebook.com/iunbiz.

Lakeshore Public Radio 89.1FM, initially known as The Lakeshore 89.1FM, first hit the airwaves across Northwest Indiana on January 19, 2010. The station was created after the board of directors for Lakeshore Public Media, which also operates our sister station Lakeshore PBS, saw the need for regional access to a public radio station in order to provide localized up-to-the-minute news and information for NW Indiana residents.
