UNDATED - Three vaccines sites in Northwest Indiana were giving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the time the state was directed by federal health agencies to stop administering it.  Vaccine sites in Northwest Indiana and the rest of the state are making the necessary adjustments amid the pause on the J & J vaccine.

The "Times" reports Dr. Lindsay Weaver, chief medical officer at the Indiana Department of Health, says the Indiana sites either are switching to the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or postponing and rescheduling vaccine appointments until use of the J&J vaccine again is permitted.

Weaver said the IDH is working closely with all its vaccine providers across the state to help them work through all those details and more will be known in the coming days.

Weaver said the J&J pause should not deter Hoosiers from getting immunized against COVID-19 as soon as possible.

In Northwest Indiana, the mass vaccination clinic at the former Roosevelt High School, 730 W. 25th Avenue in Gary, is entering its second of eight weeks of operations.  Appointments are still available online at ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211.
