Musical Guests: MICHAEL McDERMOTT & HEATHER HORTON
This guests for this week’s program is MICHAEL McDERMOTT & HEATHER HORTON, who discussed their unique relationship as husband/wife and band mates, as well as McDermott’s newly released 11th solo album — “Willow Springs” — via Pauper Sky Records .
A fan-funded and self-produced album, “Willow Springs,” was named after the small town in Illinois where the Chicago-born troubadour currently resides with wife Heather and their daughter, Rain. The songs on it were inspired by many recent life experiences and changes. Perhaps the finest overall album of his career to date, “Willow Springs,” was recorded at McDermott’s brand new home studio with a stellar group of musicians, including his wife on backing vocals.
The couple will be supporting the album with both acoustic duo performances and full band live dates; including stops at The Acorn Theatre (July 8) in Three Oaks, Michigan and The City Winery (July 29) in Chicago.
