This week’s show has two segments and two guests. First up is the world’s best-selling author, James Patterson, followed by a chat with the Indiana’s top librarian, the Indiana Library Federation’s new Executive Director, Lucinda Nord.
James Patterson has long been considered one of the best crime thriller authors, especially those novels featuring Detective Alex Cross, two of which became hit films.
In the mid-2000s, Mr. Patterson took to writing books for the “Children” and “Young Adult” (YA) markets with great success, even winning a Children’s Choice Book Council’s Children’s Choice Awards “Author of the Year” award in 2010.
The film — “Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life” — a family comedy based on the best-selling book by Patterson is currently in theaters.
James Patterson is the currently the world’s best-selling author with his books having sold an estimated 350 million copies. He is the first author simultaneously have #1 titles on The New York Times’ Bestsellers lists in the “Adult” and “Children” categories, and currently holds the Guinness World Record for having written the most hardcover fiction bestselling titles by a single author — a total of 83 with 19 consecutive #1s.
LINDA NORD is the new ILF Executive Director who came to the top spot in the Indiana Library system in early summer 2016, following a successful career in running non-profits. Like James Patterson, Ms. Nord loves books and strives to entice young people to pick them up and read, read, read.
