GUEST:  JEFFREY BROWN Fest Founder Head of Jazz Studies at Valparaiso University

This week's "A LOOK AT THE ARTS with Tom Lounges" program is a preview "The 32nd Annual Valparaiso University Jazz Festival" -- running from APRIL 3 thru APRIL 8th with all concerts taking place in the Harre Union Ballroom on campus.   Headliners include tenor saxophonist Mark Colby, The Victor Wooten Trio and The Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble.   Music will be heard from all three artists on this show, along with music from the Valparaiso University Faculty Jazz Trio.

The in-studio guest for this program is Jeffrey Brown, Valparaiso University's Coordinator of Jazz Studies, and the producer of the annual V.U. Jazz Festival he founded 32 years ago.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
