Chicagoland R&B Vocalist Robby Celestin In The Studio!

"Midwest BEAT with Tom Lounges" welcomed Chicagoland R&B vocalist/band leader Robby Celestin (Final Say, TimePeace, etc.) into the studio while practicing social distancing, to talk about his quarter century career, his various recording projects and musical groups over the years, and the brand new acoustic-based project he is debuting for the first time just days after this show aired.

The son of Robert Celestin -- a founding member of the 1960s and 1970s East Chicago-based touring/recording act, The Enchanters -- Robbie has been performing almost since walking and has developed into one of the most enduring R&B voices on the Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland music scene.

Entertaining Midwest audiences for three decades, Celestin was a founding member of the popular regional groups Five O'Clock Shadow, Time Peace and Final Say.  He also spent time touring the world and even performing at the White House as a member of celebrated regional acapella recording and touring group, Stormy Weather.

A few original Celestin-penned original songs from over the years are also featured between the casual interview segments on this program as well.

Tom Lounges has been a region radio personality and a music journalist since 1979. For the last 35-years, he has been reporting on entertainment as a weekly columnist and feature writer for The Times newspaper. He was also publisher and editor of the monthly tri-state entertainment magazine ("Midwest BEAT Magazine") for over two decades, he has written hundreds of features for numerous national glossy magazines over the decades, and he wrote "Liner Notes" for over a dozen albums release by Sony Records.
