Lake County Master Gardeners Annual Garden Walk
Lake County Master Gardeners Annual Garden Walk
Join the Lake County Master Gardeners on Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the "Butterflies, Bees, and Beds, Oh My!" Garden Walk. Celebrate the beauty of ten gardens in Munster, Highland, St. John, and Crown Point, Indiana, and gain inspiration from homeowners who use their gardens for more than just beauty. Discover environmentally friendly landscaping, Monarch waystations, and sustainable gardens. Admire the beds filled with perennials, annuals, tropicals, native plants, fruits, and vegetables, and gather landscaping ideas for your own home. Master Gardeners and the homeowners will share their experiences with gardening and be available to answer questions. Don't miss this opportunity to experience
the beauty of the day.
This year's walk has an extra bonus. Succulents, bromeliads, and amaryllises generously donated by Darlene Rigg, The Old Potted Plant Lady, will be given to guests. Seeds donated by Stantec Native Plant Nursery will also be given. Prizes of a round of golf from Briar Ridge Country Club, a massage from Priority Fitness, plants from Remus Farms, and gift certificates from Rogan Granite were also donated and will be raffled off.
Tickets are $15 and are available at Alsip’s, The Artful Garden, Bee Quilting & Such, Elzinga’s, Leo’s, Mighty Mike’s Tires, Niemeyer’s, Practically Magic, Remus, Walt’s or online at Eventbrite. Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the walk, June 25, at the LCMGA table at Munster Heritage Park, or in the morning at our vendors. Cash or check only. A ticket will be required for anyone over 12 years old.
