"Welcome Home to Quilting" Quilt Show & Gift Shop
CROWN POINT--“Welcome Home to Quilting”, the 2023 Quilt Show and Gift Shop, hosted by The Heritage Quilters of Crown Point, Indiana will be held Saturday, October 7, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 8, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., at the Lake County Fairgrounds Industrial Building, 889 Court Street, Crown Point, IN 46307. Three hundred quilts and quilted items will be exhibited at this seventeenth biennial show. Activities include a quilt raffle, silent auction, basket raffle, door prizes, demonstrations, and a vendor mall. Admission is $5.
Featured Quilter and Guild member Margaret Tzitz, age 92, will showcase a body of her work created over the past 50 years. Her broad interests are depicted in her quilts, ranging from traditional to modern, and sometimes a blend of both. Her many award-winning quilts are cherished by family and friends. Tzitz is an active member of the Crown Point Guild. She is also a member of the Heritage Quilters of South Suburbia in South Holland, IL.
On Saturday, at 10:30 am, well-known local quilter, Donna Zelesky, will present her quilts in a Bed Turning, which is a Show & Tell of quilts with an accompanying commentary. Zelesky is a prolific quilter with an eclectic body of work to share.
Other special exhibits within the show will delight attendees.
A Pop-Up Gift Shop will feature one-of-a-kind home sewn, quilted, home décor, and handmade items for sale, including quilts. One of these items could be a perfect gift for Christmas, a wedding, birthday, retirement, or just yourself. A non-sewer can adorn their home with the comfort and beauty of a unique quilted item made by Guild members. Cash and major credit cards accepted.
