Regionally Speaking, Wednesday, May 2, 2018

IU Northwest

Today:   Northwest Indiana activist Ruth Needleman is back in the studio to talk about events coming up this month -- including another immigration deportation protest vigil at the Gary-Chicago International Airport, and of an upcoming lawsuit hearing in federal court in Hammond involving the city of Gary. That hearing is all about Gary's "welcoming city" status.

We have another edition of "Green Fleet Radio," with Carl Lisek of South Shore Clean Cities.  He talks with Dunes Learning Center executive Geoff Benson.

"Lakeshore Focus" host Keith Kirk[atrick brings back Mitch Barloga of NIRPC to talk about the planning agency's "Ped, Peddle and Paddle" initiative.

And Indiana Public Broadcasting's Brandon Smith talks with Republican U.S. Senate candidate Luke Messer about the issues in what's been described by some political observers as the nation's messiest primary election campaign.  We complete the series of conversations on Thursday with Todd Rokita.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
