Regionally Speaking, Tuesday, May 15, 2018

National Association of Realtors

Today:   Northwest Indiana Realtor associate Laura Konieczny of LaPorte talks about the REMAX Integra Midwest 2018 home buying and selling market report -- which includes an update for the region.  She says the average home selling price rose 8.8% from this time last year to $120,278.  That's the highest first-quarter price for the past five years.  Laura also notes what other Realtors are saying -- buyers are competing for fewer homes on the market.

Wallet Hub.com analyst Jill Gonzalez has the latest ranking of states with the biggest drug-related problems -- and, unfortunately, Indiana is ranked at seventh on the national list.  She explains how the data was gathered and interpreted.  And we have another conversation from the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University.

Northwest Indiana financial advisor Greg Hammer is back with advice for  recent college graduates who are starting out in the workforce and how they can be better prepared for the "real world."

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
