Today:  Portage Mayor John Cannon is on the program to talk about the concerns that his administration has about the delays in getting the state-mandated high-frequency radio communications upgrade  made in Porter County.  He put out a letter to outline the concerns that contractors working on the project are still unable to communcate well, to be able to get four new radio towers installed.  Only two of the four  have been put up. The project was supposed to have been completed last year.   We also have another conversation from the Welcome Project at Valparaiso University, this one concerning neighborhood "red lining" in Gary.

"Making The Grade" season-nine ended last night on Lakeshore PBS, and Sharon Jackson spoke to the members of the winning team: Chesterton High School.  And Rex Van Zant with the Indiana Arts Commission talks about this fiscal year's indivdual artists achievement grants.  Eight northwest Indiana residents got grants this year.  Here's the list from the IAC.

Chris Nolte produces and hosts “Regionally Speaking” aired weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. He's also the temporary local "Morning Edition" host.
