Ownby is facing several charges including Battery on Law Enforcement, Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, Leaving the scene of an injury crash and Reckless Driving.

A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year-old Timothy Choate, from Elkhart, was arrested for active warrants out of Elkhart County for Strangulation/Domestic Battery and Driving While Suspended and a warrant for Conversion from St. Joseph County.  He was also transported to the Lake County Jail after treatment for injuries sustained in the crash.
