GARY - Many Indiana counties are in the process of reopening but Lake County is one of three that is staying behind. Also holding off is the city of Gary.
Michael Gonzalez, Communications Director for the city of Gary says Mayor Jerome Prince has decided to push Gary's reopening out a little further to enable city administration to monitor the rate of new Coronavirus cases in the city.
Gonzalez says city operations will return on May 18th and businesses will be able to reopen also on May 18th under certain restrictions that are still to be released by the city.
