Gary Police appeal for community help following rash of shootings

Gary's interim police chief is asking for the community's help, following a rash of shootings Thursday and Friday. Six people were shot, two of them fatally, in a period of just over 12 hours.

In a Facebook post, Chief Jerry Williams called it "a difficult time in our city." He said that "when people have the courage to come forward with details, it goes a long way toward helping us solve these crimes." Williams added that the shootings appear to be targeted, not random.
