All schools in the Kankakee Valley School Corporation were placed on lockdown Wednesday morning, as police investigated a potential threat at the high school.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office says the "school, area law enforcement, and first responders took all necessary steps to investigate the situation" and determined the threat was unfounded.

Police say they're still looking into the initial potential threat.
