An air quality alert has been extended. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has extended the forecast of an Air Quality Action Day through Friday.
Smoke from Canadian wildfires means levels of fine particulate matter may be unhealthy for sensitive groups. The Air Quality Action Day is in effect for counties across the northern part of the state, including in Northwest Indiana.
