Today: The 2022 Indiana General Assembly session begins on Tuesday in Indianapolis, so we bring back our conversation of late last month with Indiana political analyst Andy Downs about what topics will likely come up. Most will have some connection to the still-ongoing COVID pandemic. Craig Schmidt with the Calumet Area Industrial Commission talks about a new program to help northwest Indiana residents get advanced manufacturing training through Ivy Tech Community College campuses. And there is a new program underway in Porter County to help provide safe disposal of discarded syringes. Dawn Pelc with the county’s Substance Abuse Council will explain how it works.
