This is Fulcrum BioEnergy's trash-to-fuel conversion plant, just put into operation in Nevada. A similar facility is proposed on land at Buffington Harbor in Gary.

Today: Representatives of "Gary Advocates for Responsible Development," or GARD, Carolyn McCready, Lori Latham and Lin Kaatz Chary are on "Regionally Speaking" to talk about the proposed Fulcrum BioEnergy trash-to-fuel conversion plant at Buffington Harbor. They are concerned about the project's environmental impact to an already-impacted community. We have today's "INside Indiana Business" report and more about the new partnership between the city of Gary and the Indiana State Police for a thorough review of Gary Police Department policies. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and we have a conversation about raising awareness on the importance of preventing child abuse and neglect. Lakeshore Public Radio's Dee Dotson speaks with LaShaunta Pierce, the Local Office Director, for the Indiana Department of Child Services for Lake County.
