Regionally Speaking, January 20, 2022

Today: Franciscan Health Hammond has been operating a volunteer-based program for more than 20 years, to help make sure that seniors and incapacitated adults in Lake County get the help and guidance needed to live safe, independent and dignified lives. LaVonne Jarrett, the director of VASIA, is on “Regionally Speaking” to talk about how the program began, about its collaboration with the Lake County courts system, and how volunteers can get trained and involved. Laura Smith-Wynn, the founder and CEO of the Gary-based Indiana Parenting Institute, just received the highest recognition that one can receive this year from Governor Eric Holcomb and she talks about the honor. The IPI is a 501(c)3 family services community partner, committed to working with moms and dads to make their parenting a joyful experience.
